Door-to-door from China — one team, the whole way
You bought something in China. It needs to reach your address — not a port on another continent where the real work starts. We assemble the whole journey: pickup, freight, border formalities, and final delivery — and we explain each stage in plain language before it happens.
What actually happens between purchase and doorstep
Every door-to-door shipment — a single wooden crate or a full machine — crosses the same five stages. What changes per shipment is who does each part, and that is exactly what the quote makes explicit.
| Stage | What happens | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Pickup in China | Cargo collected from your supplier and brought into the export chain | Nothing — give us the supplier’s contact |
| 2 · Export formalities | Export declaration and documents filed in China | Answer questions about the goods if asked |
| 3 · Main freight | Sea or air to your country — your cargo alone in a container, or consolidated (shared) with other shipments | Decide with us: speed against cost |
| 4 · Import & duties | Import clearance, duty and tax — paid by us under DDP, or by you under most other terms | Provide any importer registration your country requires |
| 5 · Final delivery | Truck delivery to the address — business, workshop or home where access allows | Be reachable, and arrange a forklift for very heavy pieces |
“Delivered duty paid”, in plain terms
Trade terms decide who pays what at the border. Under DAP, we deliver to you, and import duty and tax are settled by your side with your customs authority. Under DDP, the shipping side pays those duties and delivers with everything settled — you wait for the truck.
DDP sounds universally better and often isn’t. It moves legal responsibility for the import onto the shipper side, its price depends on duties that differ by country and product, and some destinations’ import rules make proper DDP impractical. So we don’t promise it everywhere — we tell you, per shipment and per country, whether DDP, DAP or plain port delivery is the honest recommendation. Our longer guide covers when DDP is a bad idea.
What we confirm before you commit
Country rules
Import thresholds, taxes and required registrations differ everywhere — we state what applies to yours.
The cargo
Size, weight, packing and what the goods are all shape which services are realistic.
The address
Truck access, unloading, and whether a home address can receive a heavy crate — asked at quotation, not discovered at delivery.
Door-to-door questions
Is door-to-door available to my country?
In most cases something close to it is — but "door delivery" is assembled per shipment, not bought off a shelf. Import rules, taxes and delivery conditions differ by country, and some destinations make full door delivery impractical.
Tell us the destination and the cargo; we confirm what is possible before you commit.
What does DDP actually mean?
Delivered Duty Paid: the shipping side handles transport and pays the import duties and taxes, delivering with those settled. It is one of several trade terms — not a product, and not always the right one.
DDP shifts responsibility and cost onto the shipper side, and some countries’ import rules make it straightforward while others make it impractical. We assess it per shipment rather than promising it everywhere.
Can you deliver to a residential address?
Sometimes — it depends on the cargo and the address. A heavy crate may need a forklift or a truck with a lift gate, and some streets simply cannot take one.
We ask about access at the quotation stage so the delivery plan fits the address, not the other way around.
What do you need from me to quote a door delivery?
What you bought, roughly how big and heavy it is, where it sits in China, and the delivery address or city. Approximate figures are fine at this stage — and if you don’t know something, say so; we are used to first questions.
Bought something big? Tell us where it needs to go.
